Why This League Exists

The step between rec and club.

Coach Lisa huddled up with young volleyball players in Fuquay-Varina, NC

Around here, a middle schooler who loves volleyball runs out of places to play fast. School rosters only have so many spots. Town rec wraps in October and doesn't return until spring. And club means serious money and a long drive — a big leap for a family that just wants their athlete to keep growing.

The Elevate League is what's been missing in between: real teams and real competition, with professional coaching every session. This is where players learn the game beyond bump-set-over — positions, rotations, serve receive, game strategy — the skills that separate athletes at the next tryout.

Everyone plays. Everyone is challenged. Elevate your game. Elevate yourself.

FAQ

Common questions and answers.

Are evaluations the same as tryouts? Can my kid get cut?
No — every registered athlete makes a team. Evaluations exist so we can build balanced, evenly matched rosters grouped by skill and age, and place each player where they'll develop fastest — not to send anyone home.
Who is the league for?
Middle school athletes, grades 6–8, in Fuquay-Varina and the surrounding towns — Holly Springs, Willow Spring, Angier, Apex, and beyond. It's built for players who want more than rec but aren't quite ready for club: kids coming off a school-team cut, rec players ready for the next level, and club-curious families who want to test the waters first.
How much does it cost?
The fall season is $350 and winter is around $550 (final winter details are announced before winter registration). Both come with payment plans at no extra fee — this league exists to make competitive volleyball reachable.
Where are practices and games held?
In Fuquay-Varina. We'll announce the exact gym to the interest list first — join the list and you'll be the first to know.
What's the fall schedule?
The fall season runs mid-September to early November, with weekly Sunday afternoon practices, in-season game days, and an end-of-season play day. Exact dates are still being finalized — the interest list hears them first.
How is this different from rec or club volleyball?
Rec is a great start, but the season is short and the focus stays on the basics. Club means serious money and a long drive — a big leap for many families. This league sits in between: real teams, real competition, and professional coaching every session, where players learn positions, rotations, serve receive, and game strategy — right here in Fuquay-Varina.
When does registration open?
As the fall season approaches — the interest list hears first, before anything is announced publicly. Joining the list takes about 30 seconds and doesn't commit you to anything.
What happens in the winter season?
Winter is the competitive season: weekly Sunday practices from early December to early March, with winter break off, plus Saturday mini-tournament days against other area developmental teams, with teams grouped by tournament age divisions. Fall families get priority registration for winter.
